22 May Our visually impaired children navigate the world with confidence
SightSavers India, in collaboration with the National Association of the Blind, organized training on mobility and road safety for visually impaired children and teachers. This initiative, supported by CIAO KIDS, allows our young people to learn to navigate the world with confidence and determination.
Through training sessions, they learn not only how to move around safely, but also how to use GPS mobile applications to explore their environment with ease. With 40 students equipped with white canes preparing to take a new step in their lives with smartphones equipped with the Eye-D application, independence is becoming a tangible reality for these young people. Once they turn 16, they receive a cell phone, which marks a significant step in their empowerment.
After practical exercises on campus, these young people overcame their fears to walk proudly in the streets. Join us in this beautiful adventure of resilience, determination and endless possibilities!
